Ashburton Namibia is proud to play a pivotal role in advancing sustainable initiatives through our involvement with Khomas Solar Saver (Pty) Ltd, a private limited company registered in Namibia as part of a Public-Private Partnership (PPP).
This innovative partnership allows us to invest funds on behalf of the Government Institutions Pension Fund (GIPF), focusing on growth and building business capacity in essential frameworks, such as climate change mitigation.

One of our recent success stories is our partnership with Khomas Solar Saver, a business that installs solar systems at businesses on a ‘rent-to-own’ basis. With N$100 million earmarked from Ashburton, Khomas Solar Saver successfully completed stage two of their business plan, significantly expanding their operations.
“The Solar Saver offering provides business owners with a “rent-to-own” solution that enables them to install a solar PV system at no capital cost. This means a business can position itself to produce and use its own electricity. Any excess generation can be fed back into the municipal power grid, reducing reliance on non-renewable energy sources. Our relationship with FNB Commercial allowed us to expand the Solar Saver portfolio by securing funding from the GIPF through Ashburton Investments Namibia” says Tim Frankish, Managing Director at Khomas Solar Saver.
Petrus Amadhila, Analyst at GIPF adds, “Ashburton Investments Namibia’s mandate to source funding opportunities on behalf of the GIPF for investment makes the Khomas Solar project a good fit for decreasing the carbon footprint, building a sustainable future and driving the ESG framework for Namibia. At GIPF, our mandate is to invest funds to enhance returns to our members.”
By being fully invested to growing our economy and supporting sustainable business practices, Ashburton Namibia is committed to driving positive change and making a lasting impact in the community. Join us in our mission to build a brighter, more sustainable future for Namibia.
