Ashburton Investments signals optimism at recent client roadshow after announcing partnership
25 February 2025
Ashburton Investments is entering a new chapter in its "Fully Invested" evolution with its recent client roadshow and after having announced a partnership with global investment powerhouse, Morgan Stanley Investment Management (MSIM) in October last year.
Founded locally in 2013, the investment manager is signalling its optimism to the market regarding its global and local investment opportunities – evidenced by its strong recent performance track record and growing pool of top-notch talent.
Ashburton’s roadmap for 2025
Over the last three years, Ashburton has recruited deeply experienced distribution professionals, invested in technology and automation to enhance the client experience and partnered with MSIM to strengthen its offshore capabilities. “We continue to position our business for growth through our diversified fund range, alternative capabilities and the right partnerships”, says Duzi Ndlovu, CEO of Ashburton Investments.
“People are an integral part of our success, and we’ve managed to attract the right talent. We have an impressive investment management team with significant years of experience and a performance track-record of delivering successful outcomes for clients.
“Our flagship Ashburton Equity Fund, under the leadership of Charl de Villiers, recently pivoted its strategy to go fully local, to take advantage of South African investment opportunities. The Fund now boasts a very strong 3-year performance track record.”
“Our partnership with MSIM has been an important initiative for us and getting the best out of it is key to delivering great outcomes for our clients,” says Ndlovu.
The Ashburton brand has also evolved by revitalising its logo to give it a modern and fresh appeal. It is shedding its well-worn claret colour palette to enter a new era of growth with a dynamic stone blue and electric coral corporate identity.
The motivation behind the current strategy is based on the asset manager's focus, performance, global partnership, and its ambitious plans for 2025 and beyond. The brand will continue with its "Fully Invested" strapline and is also telling the market that its approach of small, consistent actions for long-term results is a credible approach.
Ashburton’s bright vision for the future
Ashburton established a reputation as a skilled fixed-income, private debt and multi-asset house, with strong offshore and local capabilities. Obsessed with being fully invested in our clients, our team's approach is holistic and pragmatic, spanning active and passive, traditional and alternative strategies.
Ndlovu says Ashburton is signalling optimism to the market, because being small and nimble can allow for effectively seizing opportunities.
