After a big sell-off in markets during September, developed markets gained some momentum and ended the month of October in the green although geopolitical risks remained in the forefront of investor sentiment.

The UK once again dominated headlines over the month with the resignation of the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Kwasi Kwarteng, as well as the Prime Minister, Liz Truss.
July marked a rally in equity and bond markets, with both asset classes selling off in August and more so in September. Markets were volatile on the back of the Jackson Hole summit, where the Fed and other central banks focused on inflation rather than supporting economic growth.
The UK took centre stage over the month with the election of the new Prime Minister, Liz Truss. In the first month of her inauguration, a fiscal stimulus plan and energy price caps were announced.
Global Equity markets continued to decline in September with the FTSE All World index falling 9.5%, the FTSE All world High Dividend Index fell 8.7% and the peer group fell 8.2%.
