Michael Grobler

About
Michael Grobler is a Strategy Analyst for the Fixed Interest Team at Ashburton Investments. He was a Fixed Interest Strategist at Atlantic Asset Management. Prior to joining Atlantic’s investment team in early 2013, Michael gained significant experience analysing investment strategies; covering market pricing and other topics related to the South African bond market and interest rate products. In 2012 Michael was ranked within the top 3 in the fixed income category in the Financial Mail Annual Analyst Awards for his research. From 2015-2018 he was part of a team that successfully managed a South Africa Fixed Income Hedge Fund with successful track record delivering substantial alpha and quality returns for investors with low volatility. He holds a BSc (Hons) in Mathematics of Finance and is a CFA charterholder and Member of South African Institute of Stockbrokers.
Kgothatso Nyabela
Portfolio Manager
Kgothatso Nyabela is a Fixed Income Portfolio Manager within Ashburton Investments' Fixed Income Team. Kgothatso joined FirstRand Group in 2010 as a Technical Wealth Assistant, she later assumed the role of Performance Analyst gaining knowledge of all aspects relevant to performance measurement and reporting. She then became buy-side equity dealer trading mainly equities. Kgothatso joined Ashburton Investments in 2014 as a Fixed Income Dealer being responsible for risk monitoring and implementation within the team. Kgothatso graduated with her BCom (Hons) in Financial Economics and Investment Management from the University of the Free State.
Albert Botha
Head: Fixed Income
Albert is Head of Fixed Income at Ashburton Investments. He is responsible for managing the Fixed Income team as well as the Fixed Income Investment & Implementation processes for both the retail and institutional businesses. In his time at Ashburton Investments he has won two Raging Bulls for fixed income performance and has helped to grow the business’ AUM significantly. Albert has over 15 years of experience in the investment markets, working at both large integrated financial services companies as well as being a shareholder and executive director at an independent investment boutique.
